Training Offered
All members are provided with Firefighter I training through the Office of the New Brunswick Fire Marshal and the auspices of the New Brunswick Community College. Firefighters also receive yearly training in CPR/First Aid as well as in-house training which is conducted on a monthly basis. Annual workshops are also available.

Fundraising
Although the majority of its operating budget is provided by both the Village of Doaktown and the Province of New Brunswick, the Department is always in the process of fundraising for additional or replacement equipment, new vehicles and other fire-fighting necessities. Throughout the year, the volunteers hold various events such as car washes, breakfasts, raffles and ATV family runs to raise money and awareness about the work of the Department.

Community Involvement
The Doaktown Volunteer Fire Department is an active participant in such annual community events as the Bruce Hadley Run (in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation), the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, PARTY (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth), and Doaktown’s annual Salmon & Fiddlehead Festival. The Department regularly competes in the Provincial Firefighters Games which they won in 2008.
